QAE, Inc. is a company of materials and quality specialists organized to provide technical support services to companies engaged in various types of engineered projects, including refinery and petrochemical facilities, gas processing plants, power stations, steel mills, gas transmission facilities and pipelines, subsea well completions, and drilling & completion of critical service onshore/offshore oil & gas wells.
Companies utilize our services to supplement their management, engineering and quality assurance and purchasing staffs to provide technical expertise not readily available in-house for their engineering projects.
Quality Administration: A team of our quality specialists work with our customers’ project engineering staff to develop a Project Quality Plan (PQP). The PQP defines all quality requirements for the project, including vendor qualification procedures, vendor audits, applicable material and equipment specs, vendor quality plan requirements, vendor surveillance and onsite inspection coverage. We provide project administration and coordinate quality functions, reporting directly to the customer’s project management staff.
Materials Engineering: A technical staff of metallurgists, corrosion engineers, welding engineers and non-destructive examination (NDE) specialists are available for general materials consultation. This staff assists with materials selection, preparation of materials specifications and processing procedures, and failure analysis.
Quality Assurance: Quality specialists work with companies to develop and implement in-house quality programs conforming to applicable industry standards (e.g. API Specification Q1 and ISO 9000). Manuals, specs and procedures necessary for implementation of these programs are prepared. Vendor audits and vendor evaluations are conducted for customers qualifying their suppliers.
Vendor Surveillance: Certified inspection personnel verify that selected vendors properly implement customer specifications and procedures during the manufacture, inspection and testing of engineered materials and equipment. Onsite surveillance is also performed during the construction phase of engineered projects.
Expediting: QAE Expeditors provide our customers with timely and accurate reports concerning vendor adherence to manufacturing and delivery schedules. Their responsibility is to prevent costly delays in project schedules due to a lack of vendor diligence.
